KG – I appreciate your input, and my research, at the time, should have been better. I can see that you are quite correct, and I will make the necessary revision. I am not sure how I came to my identification, as i can plainly see, from further research today, that the anaianiau has an obviously curved “creeper like” bill unlike that of the finch in my shot.

This is a Saffron Finch (not an Anianiau). The latter is endemic to Kauai.
