The locals proved to be rather protectionist about this small, out-of-the-way bay which we found by accident whilst exploring. My arrival on the shore, sporting a long lens, resulted in warnings that other photographers had had their equipment smashed by unwelcoming local surfers. Once I had explained that I was not working for a surf magazine, and that I didn’t even really know where I was, things settled down a bit. However, I still beat a fairly early retreat. I had promised not to reveal the location, and I am sticking to my word.
