Cedar Waxwing

In addition to the departing hummingbirds, another harbinger of Summer drawing to a close is the annual gathering of Cedar Waxwings around ponds and rivers catching insects on the wing, feeding up before they too leave on their migration.

Without doubt one of my local favourites, for both their character, and unique colours.
